Hi, I'm Layla
A jewellery artist based in Southwold, Suffolk. I create and hand-paint original illustrated jewellery from sustainably sourced birch wood in my studio, with my dog Ted usually by my side.
I find endless inspiration in nature and the changing seasons of the Suffolk countryside. Each one bringing its own palette of colours, textures, and beauty.
At the heart of my work is an appreciation for life’s simple pleasures and the little things that bring us joy, like the first flowers of spring, a peaceful walk through the woods in autumn, a quiet cup of coffee and a craft project. These beautiful everyday moments are what I try to capture and share through my creations.
I like to think of my designs as wearable pieces of art, each piece telling its own story. It all begins with an original illustration, which is then laser-etched onto sustainable birch plywood. From there, each design is intricately hand-painted, and made into a special piece of jewellery.
Over the last 10 years I have been lucky enough to have my designs stocked all over the world. As well as selling my jewellery in wonderful independent shops and galleries, I am now a proud stockist to The National Trust. My jewellery has also been sold at the RHS Chelsea Flower show and the Natural History Museum, London.
Thank you for visiting, I hope you find something that makes you smile.
